Ulaga Naayagane... !

Padmashree Dr.Kamal Haasan has completed fifty years in cinema. It is a wonder to find if there is any other actor in the world who started out at 4 and is still going strong at 54. The status of Kamal is beyond comparison in contemporary Tamil cinema. There are only few things in our lives that are really worthy of celebration. There are only very few things in cinema that are worthy of celebration and when there is one such occasion, it should not be allowed to pass unnoticed. Kamal’s genius, hard work and commitment are undeniable. If we do not recognize this, then there is hardly anything else in Tamil cinema that is worthy of any notice at all.

As my small token of love on his dedication towards Arts, I like to dedicate this song to him !!

Kurai ondrum illai...!

I have no special thing to say about this mesmerizing song. This song is unique due to the fact that it does not assume the tone of devoted prayer as most Hindu devotional songs but one of thankfulness to God.
Kurai Onrum Illai is a very popular song from Smt. M.S.Subbulakshmi in South India and is sung in the ‘thukda’ section of many Carnatic concerts.
The lyricist and the composer Sir.Rajagopalachari ( Rajaji) wasnot a popular composer of Carnatic music and “Kurai Onrum Illai” is his sole Carnatic composition that has gained widespread recognition.
I have sung this song for the Navarathiri Golu in one of my neighbour’s home

Song : Kurai ondrum illai
Composer : Sri. Rajagopalachari

June ponal July Kaatre... !

A western melody with perfect beats, the song has good orchestration which is a hallmark of Harris Jayaraj’s songs. Leaving his signature in the song, the music-composer has managed to ensure that lyric and the music go hand in hand. Krish and Arun have rendered their best. Beautiful lyrics by Pa.Vijay !
Harris Jayaraj, a man of few words, has once again allowed his music to speak. I fell in love with this song and we the family sings this song in a chorus, we never left this song should be heard without our voices :D
I dedicate this song to the director jeeva, who had successfully made to reach his grooving thoughts by films, 12B and unnale unnale stamped up his unique thinking to public.
I think, only with this song, I worked a bit in mixing ! Tried my level :)

Enna satham intha neram..........

Someone who watches Punnagai Mannan without being familiar with KB’s long resume could be forgiven for thinking that KB was his generation’s Bala. Inspite of the cheery title referring to a king of smiles, this is a film that has little for us to smile about.
A movie full of heart capturing melodies is “Punnagai Mannan” Great combination of all my favts KB,Kamal, Raja and of course SPB, Chitra. Would like to render all the songs from that movie , ringing in my ears even now ! 1986….hmm
