Senthoora Poove....

It is quite difficult to grasp how Ilayaraja could use guitar and western orchestration for a village tune and still create a hit out of it. Gangai Amaran boasts that following the success of this song !

This was a trend setting song for a short period, as there were already songs starting with names of flowers prior to this. Perhaps this song revived the need to start songs with names of flowers. Camerawork was a strong plus point for this song. (Gangai Amaran also has said that there is no such flower as Senthoorappoo. It is an imaginary flower, and challenges anyone to produce that flower!

The vinyl record also recorded sky high sales. Sivaji Ganesan himself has reportedly remarked that Senthoora Poove was his favourite song for 1977.

S. Janaki was bestowed national award for best playback singer for the song Senthoora Poove. The song was surprisingly very popular in Russia as well.

You’ve got to watch her closely to realise that the enthralling voice is actually in action. Even the toughest of refrains cannot make her move her head or hands ever so slightly — till date her statuesque pose as much as her scintillating strains leave watchers wonder struck – S.Janaki !! She has been singing for 5 decades for 17 languages still going strong day by day ! I am really thrilled about the feel she gives with each song ! Stunned !! Hats off to her !!!!

Please bear with the track dragging issues !

Hey Aatha ! - A craze on grace of SPB !

Here comes again my funny experiment on SPB number ! Love this song from that “Mic mohan” movie payanangal mudivathillai, such a peppy tune but with a slight slow tempo on ilayaraja’s composition, had totally changed in the new remix version of Mani sharma in the movie Malaikottai where again my favt singer Tippu done a fabulous job. But I would like to sing more spb grace and I am very much satisfied with the crazy number of mine :D

Another haunting melo from Raja, immensely a super duper hit during 80’s and SP Shailaja gave a different flavour with her shrilled voice ! As usual track is not that good with no chords and with tempo issues, tried my level again !
