Poongathave thaazh thiravaai !

There was not much technology those days, and yet when you hear even one of Ilayaraja's songs, you will notice his class. Recordings were done live, not like today, where the music director sits in one country, the male artiste in another and the female in probably a different continent. You mix them, and lo and behold, you get a tune. This is not to ridicule modern music. It is tough, no doubt, but if it is difficult now, imagine how it would have been without technology.

Ilayaraja has single handedly been the sole reason for many films running to packed houses. People used to flock in thousands to watch a movie just to listen to the songs. His re-recording is another case in point. Just listening to the background music will move a person to tears. Shoddy acting by many actors have been saved by the BGM.

I would like to present one such song " poongathave thaazh" from the movie "Nizhalgal" with my co- artist Mr.Nagabhooshanam, who has great passion towards music and specially to say, his mother tongue is telugu. He took very little time to hear this song and he had done his best .Hope you all enjoy this beautiful melody
