Paartha Niyabagam illayoo ..!

A grand song of the year 1964 !
This song Paartha Nyaabagam… is haunting and melodious from the super dooper hit movie puthiya paravai ! I have tried this P.Suseela’s song after a long period and I applied some different reverb effects for this song.

Vaan megam...

The songs and background music in this movie are undoubtedly one of Ilayaraja`s best works. All the songs are melodious and linger around for a long time in our head. The theme music, in particular, is simply beautiful. It is best experienced than expressed.
A classic song from a classic movie ! I don’t know, how many times i watched that movie for kamal’s acting, raja’s score and chitra’s songs. Hope you all sail in the same boat !

A Robust voice, which has rendered innumerable songs in English and other languages can be none other's than Usha Uthup. She has a unique place in the musical firmament today. She has elevated night club singing imparting it a sense of dignity. She creates a certain magic on stage and with the audience right from the word go. She makes them jive to her renditions - be they English, Hindi or in other languages.

Actually I was very new to this song and this song resembles few tamil songs” Kaamanukku Kaman”, “Unnai Azhaithathu pen”. I have enjoyed singing this kind of peppy numbers.

ShreeHarshan Nambiar asked me to do this song a month back and he also sent me track. Thanks a ton, Harshan for the lovely track .

I have included my own prelude with this rendition. And I tried my level best to do justice to this song. Feel free to comment . Looking forward !

Ethetho Ennam valarthen

One of the great composition of Ilayaraja, in the raaga "pahadi", which is all time favt song of mine. Its a real challenge to render this song.I just love that.K.S.Chitra elegantly sang this song and this was the turning point in her career. This is the song, which
I heard more than 100 times at a streach, during my school days, in my new tape recorder. This song motivated me much to sang film music other than classic during that time.

The track is very bad and I couldn't find a better track. Somewhat managed to do the mixing.Plz bear with the track and mixing.Like to learn more voice control which is a very big challenge for me to render this type of song.

Plz listen to it and give me your feedback !

Maadha un kovilil !

I specially want to share the news about this song which i read recently.

An unprecedented event took place in the history of Tamil films songs, and that has been very close to the heart of Ilayaraja. When Ilayaraja composed music for any song, he paid much attention to the singers that he selected.During this song recording something unexpected took place.

This song was practiced once and the next was to be the final take. The band was ready, and as soon as the cue was given they started to play the prelude. Things went well. S. Janaki started to sing. As soon as she went into the first charanam, the melody went haywire and the tune was off tangent. Then all of a sudden the musicians stopped playing. S. Janaki was blinking in shock. Raja was furious! They wanted to know what went wrong. From the recording room, he enquired as to why they all had stopped playing the music. As Raja approached the musicians, he was informed that they were completely mesmerised by the golden and most enchanting voice of Janaki that they forgot themselves and finally forgot the tune as well. Raja just smiled at S. Janaki and she very politely smiled with acknowledgement. This time they were set to record again. In the second recording all of them- S. Janaki and the musicians went one more scale higher to do a better job!. That song became a super hit.

S.Janaki is simply at her best.

I have a got the track of “Amma un pillai” which is a repetition of the song” Maadha un”.You may find some background singing of amma un pillai by sadhana sargam. It is a vocal cut track.Kindly bear with that. I couldnt stop singing after i got the track. I really enjoyed myself singing this song. I have already uploaded this song two years back, thats without track.

Hats off to raja n janumma !!

Siva siva ena radha.. !

Meaning of the song according to(TK Govinda Rao’s book)

Mortals ! Why do you not rid yourselves of the trials and tribulations of life by chanting the name of SIVA repeatedly ?

Root out KAMA-lust and other vile infections on the mind, eschew the desire for women and other’s wealth, rid yourself of ignorance and worship Siva with Bilva leaves

Associate with righteous men, regard them as gods and not giving any room to any shyness, worship Siva in the lotus of your heart with abandon and chant the holy name of Siva

Chanting the VEDAs, extol the Lord.

Avoid all fruitless talk and in the company of noble devotees, indulge in chanting the name of the Lord and singing His glory. Knowing that SIVA is the Lord whom this TYAGARAJA bows down to chant, the name of SIVA eternally!

Ennule Ennule !!

This song is,one of the mesmerizing composition in keeravani which impressed me much and mostly all the music lovers. Harmonizing the vocals in such way to enrich the standard of the song,is the specialty of raja and till date no composers have given such a nice feel in any song with harmony.

I have tried a bit to give such a harmonica effect with this song. Please listen to it and gimme your valuable suggestions.
